I was always inspired more by people than something else in this world. Yesterday i' ve a met a splendid person on the opening of the exhibition in M HKA. It is enough to look in his eyes and understand how honest what he creates. His art is pretty simple sometimes even primitive. Hamlet did not know anythig about american video-artists of 70-s (he grew up in Soviet Armenia) and also there is no strong conception in his works. But in the same time he was one of the first video artists in USSR. Hamplet Hovsepian was inspired by Jean-Luc Godard and François Truffaut in early 70-s and decided to shoot something just for himself and now you can find his works here in Antwerp.
Truly yours, Irina

The tea (we called it like Turkish people CHAY) appeared in Russia in 17 century. From that time it became the most popular hot drink all over the country. We can drink it with milk, with lemon sometimes we put jam, confiture or honey inside. The best thing about "tea ceremony" in Russia it is SAMOWAR. The way of drinking is also different. The nicest one is drinking from the sauser. Many famous russian artists were fascinated by this tradition. Have a look how bright and coloroful it can be - drinking tea in summertime on the DACHA's terrace.
In the beginning of march GIRLS FROM OMSK went to Paris to present their fall/winter collection 2010 during the Paris Fashion Week. For the installation in the gallery we recreated the atmosphere of the Russian summer house called DACHA. This is a place that almost all Russians have. The main idea of DACHA is living near nature in a hot summer period because sleeping in the countryside even attacked by lots of mosquitoes is much better than a dusty city. We collected some stuff and put it all around. Oil paintings, old letters, family photos and even traditional winter boots – Valenki were all part of the installation.
