Coming soon: The Girls go shopping!

Hi all,

I'm Andrea, a Girl from Omsk, and I'm going to be guest-editing here at Vally of Omsk for the next couple of weeks as we take you on the GIRLS FROM OMSK Shop Tour.

For the shop tour I'm going to visit the key shops stocking GIRLS FROM OMSK around Belgium. I'm also gonna introduce you to the really cool staff at the shops - definitely tastemakers to know!!

So stay tuned: up this week are my visits to The Closet (Brussels) and Cream (Ghent).

London calling

A major exhibition devoted to Russian avant-garde movement will take place in the Royal Academy of Arts in London soon.

Large-scale photographs of extant buildings, Constructivist drawings and paintings, vintage photographs and periodicals. Many of the works have never been shown in the UK before.

Such artists as Kazimir Malevich, Vladimir Tatlin, Liubov Popova, El Lizzitsky, Ivan Kluin and Gustav Klucis, and in designs by such architects as Konstantin Melnikov and many more will be shown very soon.

For now you can see the a reconstruction of Vladimir Tatlin’s Monument to the Third International, known as ‘Tatlin’s Tower’, specially commissioned from Jeremy Dixon of Dixon Jones Architects has been installed in the Royal Academy’s Annenberg Courtyard.

ICONS - STILL WANTED!

Every season we pay tribute to a Russian historical icon and we're still looking for Russian women icons for the next collection. See some of our past icons here.


This season’s tribute is paid to Anna Akhmatova (check out the sweatshirt here & pictured above), one of the most important russian female writers of the XXth century.

Did you come to our event in the Brussels store The Closet? No??
Do you know we have a GIRLS FROM OMSK corner there with our winter collection until the end of october? You do? Ah, that's good.
You should also know that our window display is visible until wednesday the 12th of october so you better hurry!
For those deserters who weren't at the event and won't be able to come see the window display, I have some photos for you here. I hope you like what we did.
